Optimization of Hydrogel Strand Dimensions for Sensing Applications

Semester: Spring 2025

Presentation description

Our study aims to optimize our glucose-responsive hydrogel by examining pore size, distribution, and thickness to achieve a response time of 15-20 minutes. Using photomasks, we fabricated porous and non-porous hydrogels, comparing their swelling behaviors in a microfluidic channel. Through structural changes to our hydrogel, we aim to optimize the glucose response of our hydrogel with hopes of producing injectable hydrogels capable of glucose monitoring, potentially benefiting diabetic patients.
