Undergraduate Research Scholar Designation

The Undergraduate Research Scholar Designation (URSD) recognizes a student’s commitment to their development as a researcher during their undergraduate career.  Apply the year you graduate and receive a cord to wear at graduation!  The "Undergraduate Research Scholar" designation will appear in the awards section of the transcripts of graduating students.

    • Receive "Undergraduate Research Scholar" designation on your transcripts - This looks great when applying for graduate school!
    • Receive a white cord to wear at graduation - Adding a little bling to your graduation attire is cool!
    • Add URSD to your resume - Make your resume stand out amongst others!
    • Get recognized at commencement for graduating as an undergraduate researcher!!
    • Two semesters of research - (*Examples: Research with a UofU faculty, REU, Independent study, UROP, SPUR, SRI, Honor Thesis, etc)
    • Presentation - Present at the Spring, Summer or Fall OUR Undergraduate Research Symposium
