Presentation description
Cam-type femoroacetabular impingement syndrome (FAIS) is a condition in which excess bone on the femoral head interferes with hip joint movement, causing joint pain, limited range of motion, and hip osteoarthritis. My research sought to quantify the difference between FAIS and asymptomatic cam-morphology (ACM) through the investigation of the hip joint reaction forces (JRFs) of each. Musculoskeletal modeling in OpenSim was used to analyze JRFs during level and inclined walking.
