Presentation description
PIGA deficiency is a rare X-linked disorder caused by mutations in PIGA. Genetic background has been demonstrated to play a role in the variety of phenotypes observed with PIGA deficiency. This study tests the effects of 11 potential genetic modifiers for the disorder on fly eye development. Using the UAS-GAL4 double knock downs were created for PIGA and each of the genes of interest. The effects of each gene on eye phenotype were measured and are presented here.
