Enhancing editing distance of Cas9 and mutagenizing kinetochore proteins.

Semester: Summer 2024

Presentation description

1. The optimization of CRISPR Cas9 to elongate editing distance, creating an increase in editing efficiency. Tested by the use of Cas9 in various types of yeast cells.

2. The kinetochore is a binding site between a chromosome and its respective microtubule. By mutagenizing proteins within the kinetochore through a degradation system, proteins essential to kinetochore processes can be identified.
