Pursuing Research Opportunities as an Undergraduate: Navigating Challenges and Exploring Solutions

This session will provide attendees with an overview of the best strategies to finding and obtaining undergraduate research experiences, from how to choose and then approach faculty members, the types of experiences that might be most helpful to pursue depending on one's career preferences, and the types of skills one should have to be most successful. We will also explore the challenges to landing such positions, discuss how to manage the stress of such a process, and brainstorm solutions for navigating such barriers in undergraduate research.
