Project description

We are looking for motivated candidates to join the Utah Waves and Architected Materials Group.
Applicants with track record / experience / expertise / strong passion in ANY ONE of the following technical fields are especially valued:
- Finite element simulations
- Acoustics, Vibrations and Waves
- Frontiers in condensed matter physics, including topological invariant, magic angle, multi-body topological order, spin-orbital coupling of phonon system, etc.
- White-box machine learning techniques
- Quantum algorithm

Student Role: Students will use commercial simulation platforms or open-source software packages. Students will be responsible for data exaction, management and visualization as well.
Student Benefits: We have paid positions and unpaid opportunities for senior/honors thesis, independent study with course credit as well as volunteers
Project Duration: One or more semesters (summer included); 10 to 20 hours per week

Minimum Requirements: Familiarity with numerical methods and linear algebra; AND
