Mentoring Philosophy:
Ever since I can remember, I have been dedicated to ideals inherent in effective mentoring: respect, communication, trust, ethics, and commitment. I have experienced first-hand the power of these ideals when applied to a mentor-mentee relationship, and I have also seen what can happen when these ideals are not adhered to. Therefore, I hope to be a mentor that mentees know they can come to when something goes wrong, as it often does in research settings. I want to be someone that mentees trust; someone that is committed to making sure that mentee's experiences benefit them as much as it does myself. Finally, I want to be a mentor that mentees can look back on as they themselves begin the mentoring process.
