Mentoring Philosophy:

My mentoring philosophy centers on a student developing skills and knowledge through hands-on participation in research activities, reflection and discussion of those activities, and through modeling and peer support. Students working with me on research are typically part of a team of researchers who collaborate and share ideas as well as support one another. I support movement toward independence by scaffolding research activities and providing increasing responsibility and independence as students' skills and knowledge develop. I enjoy working with students and supporting their development - I am a developmental psychologist, so the process of development is what I'm interested in!
