Study of the Mechanism of Action of Chloroquine and Neuroinflammation in a Zebrafish Model of X-linked Adrenoleukodystrophy

Semester: Fall 2022

Presentation description

X-linked Adrenoleukodystrophy (X-ALD) is neurodegenerative disease with very few treatments and no good experimental model. With the prior zebrafish model the Bonkowsky lab was using losing its phenotype likely due to SNPs, this project focuses on finding a new model to continue work on with inducing inflammation and measuring the efficacy of chloroquine as a possible treatment for ALD.
