AI image generators and ChatGPT are largely divisive, being riddled with concerns of copyright issues and threatening the careers of professional artists. Despite this, the popularity of AI continuously grows in and outside of the artistic sphere. This project aims to understand the potential for artists to utilize these tools and collaborate with AI in their future creative processes. With the production of a limited comic series, Sand Sage, we were able to integrate ChatGPT, Adobe Firefly, Leonardo AI, and Dreamstudio. These tools were utilized in the pre-production process such as story development, concept art, character design, and layout design while the characters, line art, coloring, and finalized panels were done with conventional methods.
