Title: Assistant Professor
College: Science

Mentoring Philosophy:

Our lab is interested in host-microbe evolution and the interplay between host genetic diversity and the evolution and spread of microbes. Focusing primarily on the microbes that colonize plants, we use a variety of tools including genomics, population genetics, microscopy and metabolomics to determine the traits evolving in interactions between plant hosts and their microbiota.

We are situated in the School of Biological Sciences at the University of Utah and will be affiliated with the Immunology, Inflammation and Infectious Disease initiative at the University. We are always eager to hear from enthusiastic undergraduates, potential graduate students and post-docs from a variety of backgrounds interested in job opportunities in the lab.
