Mentoring Philosophy:

My research focuses on U.S. politics and policymaking, especially the U.S. Congress. I analyze how contemporary legislative processes and institutions affect legislative politics, with a particular focus on the role of parties and leaders in the U.S. Congress.

I received my Ph.D. in Government and Politics from the University of Maryland in 2011, and previously worked on Capitol Hill in the offices of Congressman Daniel Lipinski and the House Appropriations Committee.
