Catholyte molecular design for non-aqueous Mg-organic hybrid redox flow batteries

Semester: Fall 2024

Presentation description

Magnesium Hybrid Redox Flow Batteries require a Catholyte solution that will store the energy to power the battery. The main component of the Catholyte solution is an organic molecule that will consistently cycle through the redox reaction for a long time. With so many organic molecules being candidates for Magnesium flow batteries, this research focuses on characterizing the different organic molecules to find the best molecules to be used in a full flow battery.
