As genetic testing for congenital heart disease (CHD) improves and becomes more common, it is crucial to explore the attitudes, preferences, and ethical considerations of adolescents and young adults (AYAs) with CHD. We transcribed, coded, and qualitatively analyzed data from 20 semi-structured interviews with AYAs (age 15-21) with CHD. Most AYAs favorably viewed genetic testing and supported the use of their health information being used in research studies with proper consent.
