Presentation description

Our collaborative research will explore how students describe role models' impact on their perceptions of scientists, self-perception, and academic experience in General Chemistry 1 (GC1). In GC1, students read three scenarios throughout the semester and answered reflective prompts. These responses will be analyzed qualitatively by exploring emerging themes and developing a codebook. Our talk will describe the emerging themes, definitions, and example student responses.
