Presentation description
My project studies the disconnected memory in the Philippines relating to the tyrannical presidency of Ferdinand Marcos Sr. and the subsequent election of his son, Ferdinand Marcos Jr (Bongbong) 30 years later. It investigates what features of Marcos Sr.'s presidency have been forgotten or reshaped and how Marcos Jr. has used the memory of his father to both promote his own presidency and remove himself from his father's.
