The Relationship Between Seismicity and Gopherus Tortoise Behavior

Semester: Spring 2025

Presentation description

This study aims to address the question; can animals, specifically the Gopherus Tortoise, detect seismic energy? Past studies suggest that certain animals, such as elephants (Rodwell et al., 2000), and frogs (Lewis et al., 1985), can interpret these seismic signals, as evidenced by their behaviors during low-energy seismicity.
