The Identification of Sport and Sex Specific Patterns in Early Osteoarthritis Development in NCAA Athletes – Evaluating Acetabular T1ρ Values and Pelvic Morphology

Semester: Spring 2025

Presentation description

This study used statistical shape modelling to compare hemi-pelvis morphology and acetabular T1rho values (representative of early osteoarthritis development) in NCAA D1 athletes. Significance was found in most paired-sport comparisons and in sex comparisons. The osteoarthritis comparisons are novel and T1rho is a semi-novel fMRI technique.
