Presentation description
Sleep is a fundamental activity for health yet women from minoritized racial and ethnic groups are more likely to have insufficient sleep duration and poor-quality sleep. Multiple biological, social and environmental factors contribute to among populations that experience sleep disparities. One challenge identified in our previous research is that women reported lack of time for sleep. Responsibilities such as (parenting, caregiving, and social support from family and friends) may lead to women's exchanging sleep time for other activities. This influences my research of understanding how the social responsibilities, such as being a caregiver or parenting effect the sleep of women who belong to minority groups.
