Operational detection for the vector-borne parasite Dirofilaria immitis, or dog heartworm. Main focus is Utah's Hogle Zoo and trap sites there to assess risk to animals there and in surrounding residential areas. Research included field work, PCR, DNA extraction, and other molecular biology lab techniques.
