Supermassive Black Hole Growth due to Tidal Disruption Events

Semester: Spring 2025

Presentation description

We created a Python program that simulated 91 different supermassive black holes and simulated a binary star system being pulled towards the black hole, where one star gets thrown out of orbit and one gets tidally disrupted (the Hills mechanism). We see some incredible growth from this mechanism.
