Socially Isolated Male State Transfer to Co-Housed Female Mice Experiencing Partner Stress

Semester: Spring 2025

Presentation description

Social isolation can cause individuals to experience severe loneliness, which has been linked to increased depression, anxiety, violence, and partner aggression. However, current research on stress primarily focuses on direct stress. We aimed to explore how a stressed individual affects the behavioral health of those around them and whether their responses differ between initial and prolonged exposure.
