Presentation description
This research project centers on evaluating the Children's Center of Utah (TCCU) Training and Teleconsultation Program (TTP), a free statewide program that provides group/individual teleconsultation and webinar trainings to any early childhood provider. The TTP included access to webinars and individual or group consultation with licensed mental health providers. Webinars focused on increasing awareness and knowledge related to attachment and child development, supporting parents and caregivers, trauma-informed practice, supporting the emotional health of staff and providers, and culturally responsive practices with infants, young children, and caregivers. Teleconsultation included case consultation, reflective individual and group supervision, and collaboration support/referrals. Through this project, we aim to understand more about usage patterns among the targeted group of providers, including perceptions of and experiences with teleconsultation, to inform program recommendations. We have recruited 8 providers for the high teleconsultation and 3 for the high webinar focus groups, and conducted interviews to get their perspectives on program effectiveness. Afterwards, we conducted thematic analyses to code qualitative data. We identified 10 main themes as well as several sub-themes. Themes that emerged the most were barriers, motivation to return, organizational support, and other recommendations. For the scope of this project, we focused on barriers to accessing TTP and future recommendations.
