Perceived Prevalence of LGBT+ Orientation and Beliefs about the Causes of Queerness

Semester: Spring 2025

Presentation description

Previous research has found that people's beliefs about what causes LGBT+ orientation (causal attributions) are strongly related to their prejudicial attitudes towards LGBT+ people. We conducted an experiment exposing participants to different poll information to see how participants' their perceived prevalence of LGBT+ orientation affects their causal attributions regarding LGBT+ orientation.
