Presentation description
Oral history interviews with former clients and employees of the Utah AIDS Foundation Food Bank (UAFFB) reveal how the program offered food as well as dignity and solidarity to people with AIDS in Utah. This project explores how UAFFB navigated dual stigmas of AIDS and food insecurity to create a food bank rooted in the culture and foodways of its unique clientele. This history highlights the power of identity-specific care networks and food among marginalized communities in times of crisis.
