Presentation description
Mycofiltration, the process of filtering contaminants from fluids such as water through fungal tissue (i.e., mycelium), is limited in lack of control over the porosity of fungal tissue on the macro and meso scale. Implementing a filter made from 3D printed mycelium-infused hydrogels could allow for more effective filtration with multi-scale structural control. This project employed 3D printing to control structures of media porosity and tested both compression and filtration properties.
