Presentation description

In the widely female dominated genre of romantic comedy, there is a substantial lack of accurate diversity representation and a lack of research coverage on where the film industry lacks. I curated data on 80 rom-coms and present quantitative and qualitative analyses on how women of color are represented differently and occupy a much different space than white actresses. I compare plot lines, character arcs, casting, etc. and observe their realized effects on box office sales, awards, and more.
