Identifying Protein-RNA Interactions Mediated by N6-Methyladenosine

Semester: Spring 2025

Presentation description

Epitranscriptomics focuses on post-transcriptional RNA modifications and their function in proper gene expression. The modifications are managed by three classes of proteins that write, erase, and read them. m6a is an abundant modification implicated with aberrant gene expression leading to genetic disease when dysregulated. Our research project focuses on developing a tool for identifying m6a reader proteins, working towards potential applications in the emerging development of gene therapy.
