How Do Minority Women View the Importance of Sleep?

Adequate sleep duration and good sleep quality and critical for optimal health. Making enough time to sleep is often a challenge, due to multiple factors, especially among minority women. This qualitative study examined barriers and facilitators of sleep health among women who identify as members of four minority communities: African American, Immigrant/Refugee, Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander, and Hispanic/Latinx. This project explored perception of sleep importance, beliefs/attitudes. Results will inform future interventions to improve sleep among minority women.
