How Comfortability with Professor Affects Students’ Perception of Belonging

Presentation description

This research examines student belonging in General Chemistry 1 and Organic Chemistry 2, using open-ended survey responses explaining their level of comfortability with their instructor. We have developed six categories using themes that emerged from the responses. After coding the responses, we determined the response frequencies in each category. In this talk, we will describe the categories, their definitions, and examples quotes, and discuss the most common themes and their implications.
