Presentation description
Cells experience endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress when the number of proteins entering the ER exceeds its capacity to process and fold them; this can result in the accumulation of toxic misfolded proteins. Endosomes play a key role in degrading misfolded proteins through their maturation and fusion with lysosomes. This research seeks to understand the role of the protein histone deacetylase 6 in endosome maturation during ER stress.
