Presentation description
Geochemical and petrological characterization of these ultramafic mantle rocks will give insight into their tectonic history from their igneous origins at an oceanic spreading center to their alteration in a subduction zone and accretion to the North American continent. The results of this analysis will have implications on mass transfer between the mantle and crust as well as the complex nature of the convergent boundary between the Pacific plate and North America.
