Exploring Short-form RON as a Therapeutic Target for Breast Cancer

Semester: Spring 2025

Presentation description

Approximately 30% of women with early-stage breast cancer develop metastatic disease. A tyrosine kinase named short-form RON (sfRON) promotes breast cancer progression and correlates with poor survival. This study aimed to localize sfRON near the nucleus to better understand its function and evaluate its potential as a therapeutic target using novel compounds like PROTACs. Treatments effectively reduced sfRON activity. Future research will investigate in vivo efficacy.
