Presentation description
This study examines the effect of acute exercise on brain GABA levels (via magnetic resonance spectroscopy) and neural plasticity biomarkers (BDNF/AEA) in young, healthy adults. Results from 15 participants show that acute exercise significantly increases heart rate compared to a control. Preliminary findings suggest a decrease in GABA levels in deep brain regions important for learning after exercise, relative to the control. Blood biomarker analysis is ongoing
