Effects of the Receptor for Advanced Glycation End Products on Successful Arteriovenous Fistula Maturation

Semester: Spring 2025

Presentation description

I work with a vascular access lab for arteriovenous fistula (AVF) research. The current compound we are studying is the Receptor for Advanced Glycation End Products (RAGE), which has been involved in vascular disfunction in previous studies. I am using histological techniques and mice models to determine if altering RAGE expression using both a drug treatment and gene knockout will improve AVF health.
