Presentation description
This project investigates how environmental noise affects neck muscle activity during manual tasks using surface electromyography (EMG). A study measured bilateral sternocleidomastoid and trapezius muscle activity in noise and no-noise conditions at 80 dBA. Three averaging methods were used to collect amplitude, area under the curve, and median frequency to determine whether noise induces muscle fatigue. The proposed work expands this by incorporating motion capture and force data. Secondary Mentor: Sophie Pearson
