Effect of Environmental Conditions on the Efficiency of Rooftop Photovoltaic Solar Arrays

Semester: Spring 2026

Presentation description

This project aims to monitor changes of environmental conditions that affect solar modules mounted on the tops of buildings on the University of Utah campus. The goal of the project is to determine how solar panel efficiency and power output is dependent on mounting strategies, mounting orientation, and documented environmental conditions such as wind speed, wind direction, solar radiation, ambient air temperature, and surface temperature.
