Development of a Recirculation Tangential Flow Filtration System as a Teaching Module Based on Bovine Serum Albumin Concentration

Semester: Fall 2025

Presentation description

This project developed a low-cost tangential flow filtration system for BSA purification and bioprocessing education. Two experimental designs showed that membrane area and pressure are the primary predictors of retentate concentration. The system achieved complete solute retention, and results demonstrate that an affordable, scalable, and instruction-ready TFF practicum is feasible for teaching protein downstream processing.
