Presentation description
As a part of the medical humanities minor, my self-chosen research project in the area of death and dying studies was an exploration of the intersection of natural burial and textile arts. I overview a general history of natural burial and its association with religious and cultural values, American burial practices and reform movements, the significance of textile arts as a spiritual medium, and describe the process of knitting my own burial shroud.
