Continuum-Limit Extrapolation of the Pure SU(3) Deconfinement Temperature Using Bayesian Model Averaging

Semester: Fall 2025

Presentation description

In a previous study, we found the deconfinement temperature for pure SU(3) to be 319.61(74) [MeV], which is about 2% higher than the known literature value. Here we attempt to settle this discrepancy through a more careful calculation with greatly attenuated systematic errors. In particular we increase statistics and go deeper into the continuum limit to improve our continuum-limit extrapolation; study finite-size scaling in more detail; and cross check our results by determining  using the Polyakov loop susceptibility along with reweighting.
