Computational Representation of Skin Patterns in Dwarf Cuttlefish

Semester: Spring 2026

Presentation description

Cuttlefish camouflage provides a model for studying how neural systems transform visual input into motor output with observable skin pattern dynamics. This study proposes that cuttlefish encode mid-level visual features into a low-dimensional representation using texture statistics from their environment to guide their camouflage pattern.
