Communities and Conversations Through the Eyes of Refugee Youth: A Community Engaged Public Art project

Semester: Spring 2026

Presentation description

For my research project, I facilitated a community arts program for K-12 youth at the Refugee Center of Utah. Our class sessions consisted of activities where the students had space to explore the concepts of identity, home, community, and vulnerability. Throughout the lessons, we have also explored new ways to paint, make marks, and create sculptures through recyclable materials. For our final project we will be creating a installation which will be on display at Gittins Gallery.
