Camp Composition and Kinship Over Time in Pumé Communities

Semester: Spring 2025

Presentation description

Hunter-Gatherers live in flexible residential communities with high mobility between bands, impacting levels of relatedness within camps over time. We evaluate camp relatedness across communities for the savanna Pumé, a group of forager hunter-gatherers of Venezuela. Using census and genealogical records, we evaluate how relatedness changes across multiple timepoints for communities.
