Blood Flow Restriction Therapy for Knee Osteoarthritis; Effects on 3D Gait Biomechanics, Strength and Function in a Pilot Study

Semester: Spring 2026

Presentation description

This research project examines the effects of low-load resistance training in combination with blood flow restriction therapy in knee-joint rehabilitation. We analyzed bio-mechanical outcomes (i.e. knee angle and moment, ground reaction forces, etc.), patient reported outcomes (e.g. self-reported pain scores), and strength outcomes (e.g. peak torque values produced by the quadriceps muscle). We analyzed these values before and after the intervention. (n=17; control)( n=15 BFR;experimental group)
