Presentation description
This Study investigates the relationship between dietary patterns and cancer-related fatigue (CRF) in colorectal cancer (CRC) survivors enrolled in the ColoCare Study. CRF is a highly prevalent and debilitating symptom that can persist long after treatment, limiting quality of life and daily functioning. While lifestyle interventions hold promise, the role of diet in mitigating fatigue remains poorly understood-especially in the context of overall dietary patterns rather than individual foods or nutrients.
Using food frequency questionnaire (FFQ) data collected six months post-diagnosis, we applied Principal Component Analysis (PCA) to identify major dietary patterns, including Western and Prudent . We then assessed associations between adherence to these patterns and levels of CRF using multivariable regression models, adjusting for clinical and demographic confounders.
Our findings aim to clarify the association of dietary intake with fatigue in CRC survivors, potentially informing future dietary guidelines for long-term survivorship care.
