ASSESSING PATIENTS’ HEALTHCARE EXPERIENCES TO IMPROVE CARE AND SERVICES FOR THE UNDERSERVED COMMUNITY UTILIZING FREE CLINICS

Semester: Spring 2025

Presentation description

This study examines free clinic patients' healthcare experiences and patient-provider interactions using a narrative medicine approach. Interviews were conducted in English and Spanish, though only English data have been analyzed. Themes include chronic disease management, financial barriers, and provider communication. While some report empathetic care, others feel rushed or overlooked. As of now, findings suggest narrative medicine can enhance patient trust and care quality.
