Anti-commensal IgG Associated with Primary Membranous Nephropathy

Semester: Spring 2026

Presentation description

Membranous Nephropathy is an autoimmune disease and the cause of nephrotic syndrome. Circulating autoantibodies against the podocyte antigen phospholipase A₂ receptor (PLA2R) are detected in 70-80% of patients with primary MN. High-temperature requirement A serine peptidase 1 (HTRA1) has recently been identified as enriched in active MN. Using IgG seq, increased IgG coating of Streptococcus salivarius in MN patients. We tested the significance of these findings through ELISA and Western Blot.
