  • Panel Questions:
    • How did you get involved in research and what kind of research have you been involved in?
    • How do you first start working with students? How do students find you? When they find mentors like you, what happens (i.e., do you interview them, have conversations)?
    • When a student connects with faculty like you, how do they pitch themselves? What makes a student competitively stand out if you have tons of students interested in working with you? What are the qualities you are looking for when considering undergraduate researchers to work with or mentor?
    • What do students commonly get wrong when connecting with faculty that you recommend they do differently?
    • How do students work with you? What are the different facets of research from data collection to dissemination?  What kinds of skills are you mentoring students to develop?
    • With the mentor or other support systems – who were those support systems?  What does a research team look like, from 1 to many?
    • Why do you love mentoring?
    • Tell us one success story – what is an example of a proud mentor moment?
