My thesis examined the three main software development methodologies (Waterfall, Agile and Spiral) in academic thought and industry implementation utilizing published literature and first-hand interviews with industry professionals. These interviews identified the pros and cons of the “academic” version of each methodology and explored the variety of factors that influence how each methodology is successfully implemented in the real world as well as their impact on various aspects of business.
